About Carolyn:Carolyn Brantley Steen is the daughter of United Methodist Ministers, the late Rev. Mr. Billie and Rev. Mrs. Miriam Brantley. After he husband’s death, as a widow with a small child, she started her ministry as a student pastor while studying at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. Ordained a United Methodist minister in 1984, she served one year as full-time UMC pastor. At that time she put her ministry on hold to care for her ailing widowed mother. She continued spreading the word during this time as radio host of the Glad Tidings radio ministry.A meeting with former school-mate Mike Steen, who was sa Southern Baptist Minister, led to love and marriage in 1988. After evaluating the beliefs of the Southern Baptist, she became a member of the Southern Baptist Church.
